Customer Service Agent Interview Questions


Customer service agent interview questions are asked to an individual, who is willing to work as a customer service agent. By evaluating the educational qualifications, judging the prior job experience and professional attitude to handle the overall customer service duties, a deserving contestant is appointed by the HR department.

Sample Customer Service Agent Interview Questions:

  • Kindly tell us something about your professional background. Why are you willing to join our company?
  • As a customer service agent, what type of job duties have you fulfilled in your previous job?
  • How do you greet the customer over the phone? Do you agree that an effectively programmed script helps a lot to calm down the aggressive customers?
  • Do you have experience in working with inbound and outbound call centres?
  • What questions do you generally asked the customer to understand the associated concern and type of problem?
  • How do you rate your analytical and problem –solving skills? How much time do you take to analyze the nature of technical issues?
  • Which mode of communication is more suitable for you to respond back to the customer telephonic calls or e-mails?
  • Do you think you can confidently interact with the customer by attending face-to-face sessions?
  • Have you ever met with a situation where you put the customer on hold for a long time and could not answer his query properly? In the future, if you met with such a condition, how would you deal with this?
  • Name the type of records and files you have maintained in your last job. How did you upload and update the data by issuing a complaint reference number to the customer in DBMS.
  • What are your salary expectations?
